2 Days of Fun

Wow!! The last 2 days have gone by sooo fast! On Sunday morning we got up early, packed up and headed for Disneyland. We got there, and they still had their halloween decorations up, so we got to see the place all haunted and spooky, it was pretty neat. I love Disneyland, but I don't really like it when I am just with my dad... He walks like he drives, always has to be in the front of the crowd. Most times he would cut me off, or leave me behind and he wouldn't notice, because he was just soo focused on getting to the next ride.
We went to California Adventure first and went on the Grizzley River Rapids. This was my first time being on this ride, and I got soaked!! The Mickey Mouse roller coaster was next, and then we fast passed it. Then we went to the new Toy Story ride... man, that was the best!! 3D and everything. Then we went back to the Mickey Mouse roller coaster. Then we went and did the Mullhaund Drive roller coster. After we went looking around in some of the shops and then we headed back to our car for lunch.

After lunch, we went to the Disneyland side. We went to space mountain, but there was a 80 min wait, so we fast passed it, but the time on the fast pass was not until 8:30-9:30. So, then we went on my mom's favourite ride, the Buzz Lightyear ride. Not as good as the Toy Story one, but still classic. Then we went on the Star Wars ride. After Star Wars, we went to the Matterhorn bobsleds, still a rough ride. After that, I found Tinkerbell's lair, and convinced my dad to go and let me meet her!!!!!!! Before this trip, I had been to Disneyland twice and Disney World once, and I never had the chance to meet her. So, we waited in line, and I finally got to meet her!! It was soo cool!!

After meeting Tink, we headed to Pirates!! And I swear, that ride has changed MAJORILY since I have last been on it. My dad thinks otherwise, but I am sure that it has totally changed. Then we headed to Splash Mountain, and low and behold, that ride has changed too. We waited in line for about 55 minutes, and when we were done, we both said that it was not worth the wait. After the ride, we just walked around for a bit. By this time we were both fairly exhausted and our backs were starting to hurt. For a break, we went on the river cruise. Dad wasn't so much a fan, but I enjoyed it.

Then we went for supper. We went to the Rainforest Cafe, and got to eat outside. It was a beautiful night, and was a nice break for us.

After supper, we walked the downtown district of Disney and went into a few shops. Then we went back to California Adventures and walked around some more. I found a Monsters Inc ride, and we went on that one. It was just like some of the rides in Disney, where you are on a track, and you have the story outlined for you. I thought it was neat, but dad said that it was lame and boring. Guess I shouldn't of taken him on that ride. We walked around for a bit more, did some shopping, and then by 9pm, we were soo tired, that we headed for our hotel.

We stayed at the Courtyard By Marriott, just a few blocks from Disneyland. I found to to be quite a nice hotel, and was impressed by it. We both called it a night early, and went to bed.

In the morning, we were lazy and stayed in bed until about 10:00am. Then we got ready, and left for our next adventure: Knotts Berry Farm!

Knotts Berry Farm is the best place for my dad, because it has TONS of rides that he prefers. When we got there, it was like a ghost town!! There was hardly anyone there at all!! So, our first ride of the day was the GhostRider, the HUGE wooden rollercoaster!! I am not much of a woody fan, just because they jerk you around a lot, but I have to say, that this was not a bad one at all.
We did probably 8 roller coasters in a row (and unfortunately the excellarator was down for maintence, so dad couldn't do that one), and then we went for lunch. During lunch dad realized that his hands were really swollen, and said that he shouldn't go on anymore rides. So, we went back into the park, walked around a fair bit, went on the elevator ride, that takes you WAY up in the air and slowly spins you around, so you can see all of Buena Vista and Knotts. Then we did a little bit of shopping, and found some really killer deals!!!

We left Knotts about 4:00pm and headed for home. We stopped at a few places to get some things that we needed and headed for home. Talked to my grandparents and my mom, and then we went for a nice relaxing time in the hot tubs!! They surely helped us, as we were sooo sore from all our fun that we had.

Today we are going out to get all the groceries that my grandparents need, and then dad picks them up!! I can't wait to see them!! And then, very sad, we have to head back home tomorrow.... I am not a fan of Wednesdays........

Family Surprises!

Ok, so I have only been here for about 2.5 days, and I am soo in love! It's like the best place for me, and I don't really want to leave.
Yesterday Dad and I went out looking for some medical stores, so we could find some supplies to help my Pake with his mobility. We were in Indio looking for stores, when I remembered that my Aunty Mary and Uncle Sid had a place in Indio. I asked dad if he could just show me where they live. We went there, and to our suprise (and theirs) they were there!! We visited for about 3hrs with them, and Aunty Mary served us the best Dutch Apple Pie I have ever tasted!! After our visit, we went to try to find the medical stores, and much to our avail, no such luck. We are also trying to find a winch, so that my Beppe can have help with the wheelchair, but we are not having much luck with that either. I don't think many people here know what a winch is, mostly because they would probably never need one. When ever we ask if they have a winch, they say "oh, a wrentch?" Very frustrating at times!!
Today dad is going to try to get some work done around here (not much I can help with), so I am planning on going to feed the ducks!! There are tons of Mallards here, and a few Black Swans (ugly ducklings). Acutally, the black swans are pretty cool, because they have bright red eyes!!
And then tomorrow we head out for Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm!! I literally can not wait!!

75 Degrees and climbing!!

Yesterday was a day of adventure for me. My dad took me on a tour of the Sky Valley Resort. It's a HUGE community here. They have many different activities for everyone to do. They also have a large number of pools and hot tubs for you to use as well. These pools and hot tubs are sourced from 2 natural hot springs, and they also have mineral water in them. They are known for their "healing powers" (whatever that means). After the little tour in the community, we expanded our horizons and went out into the cities. We went to Palm Springs (we are just north of Palm Springs, and south of Desert Hot Springs), Indio, and a few more places. They are sort of spread out here like the cities in the Vancouver area, so they are all very close to each other.
We went walking down Palm Springs Main Ave, and found one of my favourite stores... DEL SOL!!!
They have items in the store that are one colour, and when you bring them into the sun light, they turn into another different colour! Such a wonderful invention.
We stopped in a few stores (Costco, Wal-Mart, Lowes) and we could not believe the prices on some of the items. Sometimes it was HALF of what we pay in Canda for them... unbelievable!!!
After our day out of looking at stores and the towns, we came back home. I made supper, and then after supper we went and rested our weary bones in the wonderful hot tubs!! It was really neat to be sitting in the hot tubs, and see all the planes go by above you. I think that we counted about 30 planes in the short time that we were there, CRAZY!!
I do have pictures, but because the connection is soooo slow here, I can't upload them. When I get better connection, I will load some really cool pictures!
Well, thats all for now! Gotta get breakfast going!

Palm Springs Day 1

I was unable to post yesterday, as it was just a huge gong show, and I wasn't really in the mood for it. I had a really really bad day at work, and when I got to my parents house for the night, I just did nothing. It kind of felt good to do nothing for a change.

Today we left town at 6am to get to the airport to catch our flights. What a nightmare the Calgary airport it. We were flying West Jet and were about 3rd in the regular line to get our tickets and luggage tags, when some West Jet lady told us that we should use the self-check in kiosk, as it was MUCH faster than doing it the "old fashioned way". Well, let me tell you, that kiosk thing is a JOKE!!!!!!! First we couldn't find our tickets, and then we couldn't pick seats together. Then after we got our tickets, the machine told us to stand in another line up to get our luggage tags. That line up was about a mile long, and we stood there for an hour waiting to get our luggage tags. If we would of stayed in our place in the regular line, this wouldn't of happened in the first place.
Then we get to the customs place, and it was packed. I am looking at getting a NEXUS card, so that customs will be much shorter next time. After customs, we drop off my luggage and get the the security screening point. There was a stand still when we got there for about 15 minutes. They were not telling anyone what happened, or what was going on. Then when the lines do start moving, they move SLOW!! Finally, we get to the front of the line, pass the lady with the nasty wand thing, and wait for our times to come out of the x-ray machine. Well, apparently the didn't like my purse, because they put it through 4 times!!!!!!!!! There was nothing in there!!!!!!

We landed great, and got our rental car and now we are relaxing in our house, waiting for our pizza to cook.
The internet connection is not that great here, but I will try my best to be back later!!

OOoo.. pizza is done!!
Chow time!!

2 More Days

Wow!! In less than 48hrs I will be in sunny warm Palm Springs! I am just counting down the hours!!

Today was not a very good day.......
Had a bit of problems at work, and I thought that they were solved, but apparently they were not, and my manager was not happy with me. So, I found it very hard to concentrate at work for the rest of the day. On the bright side, one of my clients sent me an email with some encouraging words, and I am truly great full for her. She made my day with what was in that email!

I am sitting here now, supposed to be packing, but not really knowing what I am supposed to be packing, so I guess you could say that I am procrastinating (my whole family is really good at procrastinating). I have a few things that I know that I need to pack, but my brain just can't fully comprehend what I all need to bring.

Well, I am off to pack then. Wish me luck!!
Will post again tomorrow before I leave!

3 More Days

Only 3 more days away, and I can hardly wait. I sometimes feel like a little girl waiting for Christmas morning to arrive.

Today was a decent day. After church, I went to a birthday party for a co-workers daughter. She was turning 8, and let me tell you... I surely forgot what it is like to be 8 and have birthday parties. The kids are wild and when it comes to opening the gifts... they all crowd around the birthday girl and they have to all see what she is getting (even the child who gave it to her is up in her face, wanting to see what she got her). It crazy I tell you!!!

After the birthday party, I went out to my parents house and had supper with the whole family. Just talking and being together is pretty special, and we really cherish those moments together.

When everyone had left, and I was the last one gathering all my stuff, my sister calls and said that she left her house keys at my moms and to see if we can find them. We searched the house high and low for 30 mins, and we could not find them. Finally, about 45 minutes later, my sister calls and said that she found the keys. They had fallen in-between the seat and the door of her vehicle. It was such a relief to hear this, as they had my 11 1/2 month old nephew in the back of the car with them.

Not sure if I will be able to write tomorrow, as I will be packing for my trip, but I will certainly try!!

Hey all you bloggers out there!! I am new at this, so please bear with me.

My dad and I are taking a trip to Palm Springs, and we leave in 4 days!!! You have no idea how excited I am to be taking this well deserved holiday. While we are down in Palm Springs, we are going to go be kids again!! We are going to Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm and ride all the roller costers!! I have been to Disneyland twice, and it truly is the best place in the world!
Well, my time is up.
I will be back before I go to Palm Springs!
